1. Self-service deletion
If you can sign in, open Account settings and use Delete account in the Danger zone. FacturaOS displays a summary and asks for confirmation before the process begins. Deletion is designed to be irreversible.
If you cannot access the account, email privacy@facturaos.com from the account address when possible. We may require identity, workspace role, and ownership verification before acting.
2. Personal account effects
Deletion removes or de-identifies the user profile, authentication account, personal preferences, analytics preference, and access to workspaces, subject to the exceptions below. You may lose access to records that another workspace owns even when those records are not deleted.
3. Workspaces you own
Deleting an owner account may cancel subscriptions and permanently delete workspaces owned solely by that account, including business settings, members, invitations, clients, invoices, estimates, templates, catalog and inventory records, suppliers, purchase orders, routes, reports, support records, files, and related operational data.
If business continuity is needed, transfer ownership or export records before deleting. FacturaOS is not responsible for loss caused by deleting without completing those steps.
4. Shared workspaces and other people's records
When you are a member but not owner, deletion normally removes your membership and access but does not delete the workspace or records controlled by its owner. Your name or identifier may remain in audit, authorship, invoice, payment, or security records where necessary to preserve integrity.
Information another business submitted about you is controlled by that business. We may direct your request to it or assist it under the Data Processing Addendum.
5. Billing and connected payments
Account deletion is different from ordinary subscription cancellation. The deletion flow may cancel active subscriptions for owned workspaces immediately, and unused paid time may be lost except where the Refunds and Cancellation Policy or law provides otherwise.
Deleting FacturaOS does not automatically close a Stripe account, refund your customers, resolve disputes, release reserves, erase Stripe records, or eliminate negative balances and payment obligations. Manage those matters with Stripe.
6. Information we may retain
We may retain limited information when reasonably necessary for:
- Tax, accounting, billing, refunds, payment disputes, chargebacks, and financial reconciliation.
- Security, fraud and abuse prevention, consent records, audit trails, legal claims, litigation holds, and enforcement.
- Compliance with law, valid legal process, regulator or provider requirements, and protection of rights or safety.
- Backups, disaster recovery, aggregated statistics, and de-identified information that no longer reasonably identifies you.
7. Timing and provider systems
The active deletion process begins after valid confirmation and normally completes without unnecessary delay. Complex workspaces, payment records, legal holds, and provider systems may require additional time.
Residual copies may remain temporarily in encrypted backups, logs, email-delivery systems, fraud systems, and third-party providers until their retention cycles complete. Retained information remains protected and restricted to the retention purpose.
8. Before you delete
Before confirming deletion:
- Export invoices, tax records, customer records, reports, evidence, and other information you must retain.
- Transfer workspace ownership and revoke or resolve pending invitations where appropriate.
- Review subscriptions, seat capacity, connected Stripe obligations, refunds, disputes, payouts, and outstanding balances.
- Inform team members and clients if deletion will affect their access, invoices, payment links, or records.
